A new Opiate Treatment Center in South Bend is the brainchild of Dr. Aaron Hoffnung. Although there are many addiction treatment centers in the state of Indiana the one that Dr. Aaron developed and has since introduced to the country is unique. The facility is called Suboxone and it is a coordinated effort of outpatient care, inpatient services, and community outreach. In order to be admitted into this program, an individual who has been battling an addiction to opiates for at least six months must have already had their discharge reviewed and approved by their doctor. After having a discharge review the patient will then undergo four initial consultations with a psychiatrist and a therapist. Once all four consultations have been held, the patient will be placed on an intake call that will go with them through a withdrawal process that will last up to two weeks.
During this two-week detoxification process, Aaron’s staff will monitor all medical aspects of the patient’s body. Any symptoms that arise will be quickly assessed and treatments administered accordingly. After the first week the patient will return to their inpatient home to follow a special diet and to take prescriptions for Suboxone. Once they complete the full two-week detoxification period, they will then return to the main center for follow up.
The goal of the program at the center is to ensure that after the patient completes his or her two-week stay at the facility no traces of narcotics or other harmful substances will remain. At the end of the program Aaron will present the individual with an ‘exit strategy’ that will help them follow through with their recovery. The hope is that once an individual has detoxed from the substance abuse that he or she will return to living a productive and drug-free life without ever returning to their addiction. After attending a Suboxone Clinic in Madison, Wisconsin an individual can be assured that they are getting the medical attention they need to combat their addiction and live a healthy and productive life.
