Kingsfoil’s latest album, A Beating Heart is a Bleeding Heart is one of the best albums to be released last year. The album showcases the voice of Jordan Davis to go along with the group’s ability to write unique and captivating melodies.
It’s always cool to hear a band play music that no one else can play the same way. Kingsfoil has that type of ability and it’s showcased perfectly on their latest album. Davis’ vocal is the primary reason that makes Kingsfoil so special, but the rest of the band deserves credit too. Keyboardist/guitarist Tristan Martin and bassist Tim Warren contributed heavily to recording the album and writing the music. All three of the original members deserve an enormous amount of credit with producing this album. It matches most of the other albums being created in the indie pop genre right now in terms of quality and style and it was exceptionally well done. The album sounds amazing but the biggest reason to listen to Kingfoil is because of their melodies. The choruses on “What Your Mother Taught You” and “Quick Fix” are unlike anything I’ve heard in modern music in the genre and because of Davis’ voice, they’re all the better.
A Beating Heart is a Bleeding Heart is an album that’s being missed by a lot of people out there that would love it. The album was made really well and the songs are original and fun. Paper Route’s 2012 release, The Peace of Wild Thingswas an album that did extremely well on Alternative Addiction last year. This album is on the same level that one is. Go and get this now.
