3 Doors Down

Away from the Sun
Artwork

After their impressive debut album "The Better Life" 3 Doors Down is back with their highly anticipated sophomore release "Away From The Sun". Kicking off the album with their hit single "When I'm Gone", 3 Doors Down immediately dispels any rumors of the sophomore jinx, with rocking guitars, great vocals, and a hook like only 3 Doors Down could write. The album then transitions nicely to the title track, Away From the Sun, with its laid back feel its a strong contrast to the rocking opener, and a style rarely heard on the band's debut. Without a doubt the most impressive song comes midway through the album on the song "Here Without You" which is nothing short of a masterpiece. This song showcases lead singer Brad Arnold's writing abilities as their best, with lyrics that will stir emotions in every listener. This is certainly a strong sophomore release, but I don't think it compares with the brilliance of this band's debut album, but what sophomore album really does? At any rate, Away From the Sun might not be out of this world, but it's certainly worth picking up.
