A R I Z O N A, the electronic-pop trio just released their sophomore LP called ASYLUM and it holds up to the band’s debut LP, GALLERY extremely well. Really, you might say that this album is better than its predecessor, something that’s no small feat considering how good that album was.
With Asylum, Arizona took what they were good at on their debut album and expanded it. The electronic/synth/programming work has been updated and it’s better than it was on the band’s debut. The vocals from Zachary Charles are just as good as they were on the last record and the melodies might be a little better here on at least half of the songs. The biggest nod to give Asylum over Gallery is that the overall collection of songs is better than the band’s debut – even though there are only nine songs. The production/writing/performances – everything on this nine-song album are on point.
ASYLUM from A R I Z O N A is the band’s second strong LP in a row. There’s something incredibly addictive about the music that these guys throw together. Their production is unique, the vocals are great, and the songs are extremely good on every level. Give this one a listen you won’t regret it.
