If they didn’t make such great music I would bash A R I Z O N A repeatedly for making me do all-caps and spaces between every letter of their name. It sucks. Typing out A R I Z O N A every time is not fun, from here on forward in this review – it’s Arizona. Arizona – a trio from New Jersey that met at a gallery and appropriately named their first album, “Gallery” have shared that first album with the rest of the world, and it’s something they should be incredibly proud of because it’s tremendous.
“Gallery” has plenty of music on it that’s made its way out over the past few months. “Where I Wanna Be”, “Electric Touch”, “Oceans Away”, and “Cross My Mind” have all been released before and they’re all great tracks, and probably the best songs on the album. That out of the way, the rest of the album is great too. You'll love the song placement, you'll love the one interlude that’s here, and you'll love the album tracks on this album, (with some clear standouts being “Feed the Beast”, “Running”, and “Brave Enough.”) This album doesn’t have a bad song on it, and the songwriting and synthesizer work across the board here is brilliant.
A R I Z O N A put together something remarkable here, something good enough for me to type out their actual name one more time. This album is one of our favorites to come out this year and there will be something on this record that speaks to you if you give it a shot too.
