Pearl Jam will promote a national youth movement to register new voters when they perform at Missoula, Montana’s Washington-Grizzly Stadium on August 13. Pearl Jam announced earlier this week that its sold-out show will be an official Rock2Vote event. The politically active band will highlight its commitment to supporting those who are making their voices heard. Pearl Jam is also planning to give a portion of its proceeds to four Montana organizations that support youth and Native American voting, land conservation and women’s health. Bassist Jeff Ament, a native of Montana who lives part time in Missoula, said: “The band is super excited to come to Missoula and help energize the voters as we believe it’s a critical time in our democracy.” The band is also scheduled to play concerts in three U.S. cities this summer.
