The Red Hot Chili Peppers have confirmed that their new album I’m With You is set to hit stores on August 30. Flea broke the news with an update to his official Twitter feed earlier this week saying he is thrilled for the release: “It gives me profound pleasure deep in the fiber of my being to announce the august 30 release date of the new red hot chili peppers’s record.” The new album will be the band’s first in five years and follows their previous album Stadium Arcadium. It is also their first with new guitarist Josh Klinghoffer, who joined the band after the departure of longtime Chili Pepper John Frusciante. During a radio interview with L.A.’s KROQ, frontman Anthony Kiedis says the new lineup has changed the band’s creative process: “Josh has never really had a band he was part of . . . he came in with sort of a lifetime of music . . . a real reservoir of chords and ideas . . . and now he has a place for it.” This article appears courtesy of RTTNews.com.
