Panic! at the Disco's Brendon Urie has opened up on the single "Victorious" from the band's latest album Death of a Bachelor. He told Radio.com that the song came from a "revelatory" and "celebratory" place.
"This was a rare moment," he began. "Halfway through writing the album I hit a moment where I hadn't felt that excited in a long time and it sparked the idea of wanting to write this invincible, indestructible, confident song that portrayed exactly how I felt about the whole process up to that point."
"I wanted to showcase the party in me," he added. "The monster's out of the cage. All I wanna do is party."
In another interview with Entertainment Weekly, Urie says that now that he's the sole songwriter for Panic, he feels "less pressure."
"Writing with four people as opposed to just me alone - I like it better now. I like getting my succinct ideas into a two and a half minute thing and if I need to, I can get feedback from people I work with. It feels like there's less pressure, it's more organic."
