Catfish and the Bottlemen will kick off a headline tour June 9 at the Varsity Theater in Minneapolis. The run, which follows the band’s sold-out spring tour of the U.S., includes a show at New York City’s Webster Hall (June 16). Catfish and the Bottlemen will be traveling the globe this summer, performing at as many festivals as possible – including Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza in the States. International festival performances include Glastonbury, Ibiza Rocks, Splendour In The Grass, Fuji Rocks and Rock en Seine. The band recently played the Main Stage at Radio 1’s One Big Weekend in the U.K.
Virgin Records – which is providing support to Catfish and the Bottlemen as part of the new agreement between the band’s label, Communion Records US, and Capitol Music Group – is taking the band’s new single, “Cocoon,” to radio. The track is from Catfish and the Bottlemen’s debut album, The Balcony, which was produced by Jim Abbiss (Arctic Monkeys, Adele).
“I wrote it [“Cocoon”] in New York and it reminds me of feeling like the luckiest man in the world,” frontman Van McCann told Noisey. “A week before that, I didn't have a job, I had no money to my name. And then we got signed and I was in New York writing songs.”
