Over the past couple of months we've been doing another ReverbNation feature asking for indie acts from around the globe to submit their songs for their chance to be featured as the Indie Song of the Day on Alternative Addiction. We got thousands of submissions and after going through them, we've selected ten artists to highlight over the course of the next two weeks.

Oh Be Clever

The first band we're highlighting in the series is Utah duo Oh Be Clever.

Oh Be Clever is vocalist Brittney Shields and instrumentalist Cory Scott Layton. Shields and Layton's talents and styles compliment each other perfectly. Shields' sweet voice on top of Layton's chaotic instrumentation is the perfect mix.

For more on Oh Be Clever, you can visit their ReverbNation profile at https://www.reverbnation.com/ohbeclever

Runaway

With our second entry in the series we're sticking with Utah and rock act Runaway.

Runaway was formed in 2017 by frontman Jesse McGivney partnering up with guitarist/producer Clayton Blue. The band counts rock stalwarts from the 2000s as primary influences including Linkin Park, Audioslave, and Saliva. This year they've released a couple of solid singles. They pushed out "Ghost" earlier in the summer and more recently they dropped their track "Leave" ft. Joseph Todd of Bloodline.

Lovely World

South Carolina's Lovely World is made up of brothers Landon and Cade Rojas. Landon plays guitar and is the lead vocalist of the group while Cade is the drummer. Joining the two Rojas brothers is Cameron Smith on lead guitar and bassist Michael Gilbert.

The band is a true rock act. They sing about love, addiction, politics, and the general spectrum of human emotion. They're finishing up work on a new album in 2019 and they're looking to tour throughout 2020 - and judging by what we've heard from their studio stuff, they're live set is going to be captivating to say the least.

Check out their song "Do You feel the Sun"

Victoria's Flight

Glasgow band Victoria's Flight consists of childhood friends Matt Robertson and Craig Harkness. They've built up their base steadily in their hometown over the past couple of years. So far they've opened up for Drax Project, Sea Girls, The Ramona Flowers, and The Magic Gang.

The song we're featuring is "Last Days of Summer" - it's the second of three singles that tell the story of a summer of love and loss.

Remember The Monsters

Arizona rockers Remember the Monsters is another entry in our ReverbNation series.

The band made their debut in 2016 with their single "The Pieces Remain" - it earned up 5 million streams across multiple platforms. Since then the band has released three additional singles includes their latest, "Close Encounters."

Although they don't have the same frontman as they did on their initial debut, they're now fronted by the tremendously talented Julian Comeau. He and primary songwriter Ashten Banks make one hell of a team and have this band going places.

Look for Remember the Monsters to release more new music coming in 2020. Listen to "Sink" from Remember the Monsters below.

Wild Sons

Wild Sons is an act out of Palm Springs that started out with four friends just wanting to start making their own music that was fresh and enjoyable. They settled on their current indie/pop/rock sound that's served them well so far.

Although they haven't exactly released music at a prolific rate during their tenure, they've still established a decent following. Chris Lomeli, Michael and Kevin Arcaro and JD Perone just released one single in 2019 but I'd expect them to release at least a couple of songs throughout 2020.

Listen to the latest single from Wild Sons below, it's called "Midnight Game"

The Wilderness

The Indie Song of the Day for today comes from Kingston, Ontario band The Wilderness. It's another in our series of ReverbNation submissions.

They're based in Kingston but they're actually from all over. They have members from Canada, the UK, the United States and even Switzerland. Their music takes a bit from everything including Springsteen Dylan, Josh Ritter, Mumford & Sons and lots more.

They've got three studio recordings done, they've played approximately 400 shows across North America and they continue to grow their following.

The latest song from The Wilderness is called "Virginia Sapphire." The song came to life after the band drank a bottle of gin in the suburbs of Washington D.C.

Barefoot

Barefoot, not to be confused with the Texas band that was active in the early 2000's by the same name, consists of vocalist Dylan Fay, drummer Christian Aroz, guitarist Dylan Heinrich, and bassist Patrick Smiley.

They've been active since 2013 when they released their first EP, a self-titled effort. Since then they've released "Charming Souls" in 2014, "Stories to Scare the Young" in 2015, "Yesteryear" in 2016, and "Shook" in 2018.

They've played a ton of big venues in their native state of Arizona and they've opened up shows for Sublime With Rome and The Dirty Heads too.

They just released a new EP in September called "Leisure Fever" and that's what the song we're featuring is from.

Listen to Barefoot's "On with It Then" below:

Haunted By Destiny

From Norrköping, Sweden, Haunted By Destiny was started by Christian Gardefuhr and Johan Söderhielm. The lineup was later completed when Simon Weston, Marcus K Johannson and Evelina Eliasson joined the band. Eliasson is the voice of the band and she's a powerful vocalist that provides the perfect contrast to the band's heavy music.

Haunted By Destiny features heavy riffs and big choruses. All the members of the band have spent time touring Sweden and Europe and Evelina has spent time performing in musicals and other productions. They say their music is a mixture between Lady Gaga and In Flames and we're inclinded to agree.

Listen to "Hate That I Love You" from Haunted By Destiny below:

ModernMyth

Oklahoma's ModernMyth is Aaron Harris on vocals, Johnny Digges and Matt Walker on guitar, Elliott Hett on bass, and Jake White on drums.

They started the band with the intention of stepping outside of their own boundaries to write new music that they found refreshing. They're like any band out there - they're out to share their experiences and connect with other people.

The band's most recent release is their album Tides that came out in 2018. I'd expect the band to push out something new soon, but in the meantime listen to their lead single and title track off the album. Check out "Tides."
