Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross earned two Emmy nominations for HBO’s critically acclaimed sci-fi drama “Watchmen.” The duo have been nominated for original dramatic score for a limited series, movie or special and also for outstanding original music and lyrics for the song “The Way it Used to Be.” Speaking to Billboard about their first Emmy nominations, Reznor said, “In all honesty we don’t think a whole lot about the awards side of thing. We really immerse ourselves in the work and try to do the best we can.” “I think we’ve learned from doing years of putting out records, it’s that moment when you know it’s finished and the best it can be — that’s the moment you can’t wait for people to hear it,” he added. The pair had previously won an Oscar for the score of David Fincher’s The Social Network and a Grammy for the score soundtrack to Fincher’s The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.
