My Chemical Romance announced last week that their North American arena tour sold out, with 228,600 tickets picked up in under six hours. The band announced the dates for the upcoming trek, their first in nine years, on January 29 and also shared a 13-minute video, “A summoning…,” featuring music composed by Ray Toro and Jamie Muhoberac. In addition to the original itinerary, the band added a second date in Newark, as well as two additional shows in Los Angeles. “My Chemical Romance would like to thank their Killjoys across North America for selling out 228,600 tickets in under six hours,” the band said. “Fans from the U.S. and Canada acted quickly, as tickets went on sale today at 12 PM local time and were gone long before the day’s end,” MCR added. “You’ve worn out all your dance shoes, this time.” MCR played their first concert since 2012 in December at the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall in Los Angeles and grossed almost $1.5 million, a record for the venue. Over 140,000 people reportedly waited in the queue for the near 5,000-seat venue. Before embarking on their North American trek, MCR is scheduled to perform in Australia, New Zealand, Japan, the U.K., and Europe. Copyright(c) 2019 RTTNews.com. All Rights Reserved
