Promoting their latest tour, Muse came up with the idea of adding flying drones to their live shows. The tie-in with their latest record Drones was a hit with fans until at a recent show in London, when one of the drones crashed into the crowd at the city’s O2 Arena. According to NME, crew members rushed to salvage the device from the crowd, and no one was injured. “Amazing show from Muse at The O2 last night – despite nearly being flattened by a crashing drone!” wrote one concertgoer on Twitter. “We’ve been able to work with a company in the Netherlands that have written a piece of software that can control a whole swarm of drones,” Muse tour production designer Oli Metcalfe said at the launch of the tour. “So we’re programming them in a different way. They’re not manned . . . vehicles as in somebody with a controller. They’re controlled by a computer system and tracking system.” At a Detroit show in July, another one of Muse’s drones crashed into the crowd. Copyright(c) 2016 RTTNews.com. All Rights Reserved
