Fall Out Boy To Donate $100,000 In Support Of Black Lives Matter

Image

Fall Out Boy have announced that they will donate $100,000 in support of the Black Lives Matter movement.

June 10, 2020

The band will take the money from the Fall Out Boy Fund, which they launched in 2017, and provide donations to National Bail Out and Black Visions Collective.

When you discover rot deep within your house you don't just paint over it. You dismantle it and rebuild a better house, Fall Out Boy said on Twitter. "We support the black community in the struggle against racial inequality, injustice, and police brutality by committing $100,000 from the Fall Out Boy Fund this summer."

We realize this is a marathon not a sprint and plan to continue and expand our support, they added.

Several celebrities from the music industry have voiced their support and have also donated generously to the Black Lives Matter movement, as protests continue against racial inequality in the U.S. following the killing of African-American man George Floyd by former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin on May 25.

Kanye West, Marshmello, Doja Cat, and BTS are among several music personnel who have financially contributed to the cause.
