Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong has released a cover of Kim Wilde's 1981 hit song "Kids in America" in an addition to his weekly quarantine series, titled "No Fun Mondays."

Armstrong dedicated the cover to his bandmate of two decades, Mike Dirnt, who plays bass in Green Day.

"Play this out one loud just for him," he wrote in the caption of the video, which features a unicorn bassist bopping its head to the tune while Armstrong scribbles the lyrics of the song on a notepad using a neon green sharpie.

Previous additions to the series include the Bangles'"Manic Monday," which he performed alongside Susanna Hoffs from the band. He also covered the song "That Thing You Do!" from the 1996 movie of the same name and dedicated it to the late Adam Schlesinger, who died from complications caused by the COVID-19.

Having released their 13th studio album, Father of All... in February, Armstrong is already working on new music.

"I had all these melodies in my head, so I wrote, like, six songs since all of this has been going on," he shared with Kerrang.

He added, "I don't know when I can get together with Mike and Tré, but I told them to make sure that they're quarantined for now, and then I hope down the road we can get back in the studio with [Father of All... producer] Butch Walker."
