Tickets will go on sale tomorrow, November 22, for Bastille's first U.S. shows of2014. Dates include an evening at Webster Hall in New York City (January 22). Additional dates will be announced shortly.
The U.K. band played to sold-out houses in September 2013 on its first-ever North American tour. While in Los Angeles, Bastille shot a live performance video of "Oblivion," a track from its debut album, Bad Blood. The clip, which features the band performing with a string section at the legendary Capitol Studios in Hollywood, CA, premieres today on RollingStone.com.
Bastille will perform on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" on Wednesday, December 4. While in the States, the band will play numerous holiday radio shows, including night two of KROQ's "Almost Acoustic Christmas" at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on December 8.
"Pompeii," the first single from Bad Blood, recently topped Billboard's Alternative Songs chart for four consecutive weeks. It has sold nearly 500,000 copies in the States. The track, which has crossed over to Triple A, Top 40 and Hot AC radio, is featured in the trailer for DreamWorks Animation's Mr. Peabody & Sherman. “Pompeii” is certified Platinum in the U.K. and New Zealand, double Platinum in Italy and triple Platinum in Australia. The accompanying video has more than 46 million views.
Bad Blood has sold more than 100,000 units in the U.S. to date. It entered the U.K. albums chart at No. 1 and was the first debut album of 2013 to be certified Platinum there. BBC Music praised Bad Blood as a "really gratifying debut," noting, "Bastille really deliver" while PopMatters.com found the album "as infectious as it is dramatically powerful." In an "On The Verge" feature, USA Today observed, "these Londoners are crafting stadium-ready, pop-rock anthems" and Billboard hailed Bastille as a "Bubbling Under" act to watch.
