The Indie Song of the Day comes from Select Captain, an indie-folk/pop duo from Copenhagen, Denmark. The duo just released a new EP called Comes in Waves, Part 2 the release is the second part in an EP trilogy. The song we’re featuring is called “Get Me Out of Here.” It features a nice vibe and really has a strong hook in the chorus. Select Captain is Kristian Gaarskjaer and Soren Vestergaard. With the EP trilogy they’re in the middle of releasing, they’ve done a good job of accomplishing their main goal; building a sonic soundscape that’s unique to them. It’s an interesting mix of organic/acoustic and electronic instruments. With their instrumentation and added ambient sound, they create something unique to them. That paired with strong melodies and personal lyrics and expression make Select Captain something special and it makes their EP set worth listening to.
