Rare Monk is a collective of five Portland musicians that have been playing in and around Eugene and Portland, Oregon for the past three years. With a sound that has continued to evolve since the band's formation, their repertoire combines elements of pop, rock, psych, jazz, and funk.
In January of 2011, Rare Monk completed a West Coast tour throughout California and Nevada and most recently took first place in Ethos Magazine's "Bandest of the Bands" competition in Eugene.
