Peter Searcy came onto the scene in 1999 with his solo debut, "Could You Please And Thank You".  Six years later, Searcy returns with a new album entitled "Trust Falls" which features two tracks produced by Butch Walker.

This time around, Searcy decided to release his music independently, in contrast to his major label debut.  "So much money is wasted recording a major label album."  Searcy told Alternative Addiction.  "I mean, do you really need a drum tech? Is a swank hotel room going to make or break an albums success?"

Releasing the album independently did hinder Searcy from getting the aid of one of hottest producers in the music industry either.  Searcy says he met Butch Walker when he played cello on one of Walker's previous albums.

"He did it more as a favor. Obviously I couldn't pay him the kind of money that Pink or one of those poprockteenangst bands might."

As Walker does on all of the material he has a hand in, Searcy says Walker helped him move in right direction when recording the record.

"He does a good job of setting a tone for the song and then letting it happen. We didn't really do much reworking of the material that I brought to the session. He just made sure the performances were right."

A lot has happened to Searcy in the past six years, and many of the struggles and hardships that he faced inspired many of the tracks on this new CD.  An impressive collection of tracks "Trust Falls" is a more matured, more weathered version of Searcy's unmistakable style.

Of the new album Searcy says, "I think Trust Falls rocks a little more. It's kind of an album about loss, loss of a marriage, loss of a label, loss of direction."
