Multi-instrumentalist and singer/songwriter Tommy Walter's solo band Abandoned Pools is set to release 'The Reverb EP' on June 7th. A full length album entitled 'Armed to the Teeth' is set to be released on Universal Records later this year. This album is a follow up to Abandoned Pools' debut release 'Humanistic' which featured the hit single 'The Remedy'. Released on Extasy Records in 2001, the album's distinct sound caught the ears of college radio stations everywhere. Last summer, the Tommy Walter announced Abandoned Pools had signed to Universal Records, and would release their major label debut later this year. Previous to his time recording under the alias Abandoned Pools, Tommy Walter was a founding member of the band The Eels, which was signed to DreamWorks Records in the late 90's. After moderate success with The Eels, Walter surprisingly left the band. In Walter's own words, the reason for his departure was as follows: "Once you get a fancy tour bus and the crowds get bigger, everything goes to hell." Walter locked himself in his South Pasadena apartment and feverishly began writing and recording his own original material on his eight-track recording machine. The resulting material would ultimately become his debut record, 'Humanistic.'
