Will Hoge’s latest EP “The Living Room Sessions” takes six songs from his most recent full album “The Wreckage” and basically turns them into live-acoustic versions. They are polished up so everything sounds like it was recorded in a studio, but they aren’t refined too much past that. This EP sounds like it was recorded 40 years ago but re-mastered perfectly, making it the perfect recording. The songs end up sounding great acoustically and the six songs that already had heavy blues (and country) elements to them sound even more so now. These six songs are all Will Hoge songs, but in their purest form. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him roll out with more EPs like this in the near future. If you only like his pop music that he made in his early days, you’re not going to love this. But if you follow Will Hoge, you will love this EP.
