Vancouver modern rock outfit Fear Zero have caused quite a stir in their Canadian homeland having achieved a good deal of success on local radio as well as breaking the Canadian top 50 with the commercial ‘Sunday Morning’. Often compared to the likes of Matchbox 20 and fellow Canuck rockers Matthew Good, Fear Zero in fact come across as a more upbeat radio friendly Nickelback. On the heavier material in particular-‘Drown Myself’ and commercial rock anthem ‘Satellite’-vocalist Ed Sadler exhibits more than a passing resemblance to Kroegers tones of angst, and whilst there are enough moments of quality for the band to hold their own in this music genre, it remains a mystery as to why they have yet to be signed to a major label.
