The Dirty Heads
Fireflight’s “Unbreakable” was a decent release but it only really had two songs you would come back to and they were the first two tracks, “Unbreakable” and “You Gave Me a Promise.” The new album, "For Those Who Wait" is the exact opposite of that record. There are probably eight tracks that you’ll want to come back to with this record. Most of these songs were written extremely well, especially the band's ‘harder’ stuff. When they turn up the energy that’s when they’re at their best. Dawn Michelle is an amazing vocalist and where there might have been a few weak moments on the first record, there aren’t any here. The only complaint about this record is that when the guitars aren’t there and things are fairly stripped down, the songs aren’t as good. The vocals are all stellar but those songs don’t feel complete. They’re moving, they’re just not as good as the other songs on the album. As the band progresses further into their career they will get better at the more intimate moments. "For Those Who Wait" is a strong record from Fireflight and an album you’ll want to take a listen through.
