There’s definitely some potential for Cold War Kids to blow up with their next album. They’re previous releases are solid, not perfect and not altogether refined, but solid records. Judging by their new EP, this band might be on to something. “Audience” is stellar and plays like the best Cold War Kids track to date. The other three songs on this EP- “Santa Ana Winds”, “Coffee Spoon” and “Sermons” are all decent tracks but "Audience" is the real teaser with potential. That song in particular has a simple but complex sound. That sound is what has started to go over really well over the last year or so. This is a good four song EP, it would have been nice to have another song, but four will tide us over until a new album is done. There’s lots of potential for this band to blow up like Kings of Leon did and I wouldn’t be surprised if that happened in 2010.
