The soundtrack to Up in the Air is a quirky collection of easy listening music that’s current and traditional. The soundtrack features an Elliot Smith B-side song in “Angel in the Snow.” The Smith song is the biggest highlight on the soundtrack because of how it was used in the movie and because it’s a rare song from Smith. Other highlights include Graham Nash’s demo version of “Be Yourself” and two Charles Atlas songs that are worth listening to. Music was used as a major driving force in this movie and you would have liked a few tracks that were in the movie to also be included on the soundtrack but what is here is very good. Common music fans won’t appreciate this soundtrack completely and 90% of people won’t care for the soundtrack unless they see the movie. That said, it's refreshing to see a soundtrack with a mood that matches the soundtrack perfectly.
