When you capture the independent vibe of Cage the Elephant and the smoothness of Maroon 5 you get Band of Skulls. It’s like retro rock meets R&B. Russell Marsden sings with a smooth but rugged voice to draw anyone listening into an ultimate trance and the guitars throughout the record are amazing. This is the way rock used to be and it can definitely be enjoyed on the band’s album “Baby Darling Doll Face Honey.” Pretty much Cage the Elephant is the talented version of The Mooney Suzuki. The album itself is filled with awesome songs most notably the first five tracks, especially “I Know What I Am” and “Light of the Morning.” Band of Skulls is definitely on to something and it won’t be long until the masses pick up on it.
