Everything Will Be Alright in the End
You Haunt Me
The best thing about the holidays is the abundance of off-releases. Live records, greatest hits, and b-sides… basically the holidays are a great time to be a fan of off releases. Jack Johnson’s “En Concert” is his off release and it’s a good one. There’s a great collection of live tracks that include covers, collaborations, and Johnson staples. There are also a few special guests including Zach Gill and Eddie Vedder. If it were just a good live record it would be worth owning, but it’s actually better than that. It’s not “Frampton Comes Alive” good, but it’s as good of a live record that you’re going to get before the end of the year, possibly the best. Recording quality is great, performances are exceptional, good song order, good song lengths, really everything that can be done well with a live record is done well here. There are also DVD and Blu-Ray releases of it available, but the CD is definitely worth checking out.
