It wasn’t that long ago that Quietdrive released their sophomore album “Deliverance.” But the band felt they needed to release some new music for the group of fans that liked their debut better than that album so now they’re releasing “Close Your Eyes.” For everything that it is, “Close Your Eyes” is mainly an EP that’s seven songs deep. You can definitely hear the band likening this EP to their original record. It’s a little snappier than “Deliverance.” But there are some key differences, Kevin Truckenmiller sounds more mature, and his voice a little different. The biggest key is that even though the EP is in the same vein of their debut, the music is more impressive. “Into the Ocean” is an striking track, and a song that you can really here Truckenmiller’s more developed vocals. That track is highly notable and then the EP overall plays more developed… Kind of like “Deliverance.” This EP is seven tracks long so it’s pretty close to being an album, and overall it’s pretty impressive.
