The Take Off and Landing of Everything
Elbow

It might not be the best Chevelle album ever made but it’s easily my favorite. Chevelle tackles phenomenon and the uncomfortable feelings of said phenomenon in their latest album “Sci-Fi Crimes”. Surprisingly enough this record is the quintessential alternative-rock radio record. It’s hard and it’s catchy but it doesn’t sound like it was made for the medium. It just sounds like good music that’s going to go over well through the airwaves. This is the record that Chevelle needed to make at this point in their careers. Everything sounds stellar including Pete Loeffler’s vocals- which might sound better than ever. He did vocals well and his lyrics on this particular run are fantastic. Chevelle really put out an awesome piece of work here. Tracks 1-11 are solid with some being harder tracks than others. This is a record that should please Chevelle’s base- hardcore and casual. It’s the best record they’ve made since “Wonder What’s Next.” Go and listen to this immediately.
