The first Transformers Soundtrack was chuck-full of Warner artists featuring Linkin Park. The second Transformers Soundtrack is only partially full with Warner artists, but it also features Linkin Park. With Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen we're treated to a more mainstream package of artists here. The Fray, Nickelback, Theory of a Deadman, Linkin Park, Green Day, The All-American Rejects, Hoobastank, and Staind. This record isn't about promoting Warner artists it's more about the music being used to promote the music. While that's a bonus the music that's been chosen isn't that great. At this point who hasn't heard Theory of a Deadman's "Not Meant to Be" and why are The Fray, Staind, Green Day, and Nickelback here with all new(ish) singles? It's promotion. And that's cool but it adds nothing to this album. The Used's rendition of "Burning Down the House", Cavo's "Let it Go",Linkin Park's new badass single, and the Cheap Trick remix of the Transformers theme are cool but everything else on here has been heard before so why purchase this? A special note does have to be made for Cavo's "Let it Go" out of every song on here it's the best one- this band is going to blow us away with a new album this year. I'm pumped. More pumped than I am for the work done on this soundtrack.
