Don't Kill The Magic
Isolate and Medicate
Single File has a niche; Three minute pop songs with unique lyrics in the Say Anything vein, but more relatable. On “Common Struggles” this niche is shown perfectly from tracks one to eleven. The longest song on the disc comes in at 3:36. There are no big breakdown songs and although the music is always good the songs are more about the melody and Sloan Anderson’s tense way of singing them. All of the songs are a little goofy but most of them have underlying messages about real situations. And while every song is catchy and every song is goofy, when the final album is presented you’re left feeling that it’s complete. Surefire, can’t-miss songs include the single “Girlfriends”, the previously released “Zombies Ate My Neighbors”, and “Dear Meghan.” Single File is a band that fans of pop music with an edge will love.
