The Clarks return with their latest release, “Fast Moving Cars”. Just like their albums in the past, this album is full of solid, well crafted songs. The Clarks prove with their latest release that they are one of the few bands who can still consistently put out great albums, time and time again. From the opening chords of the first track “Hell On Wheels”, its clear that The Clarks pick up where they left off on their last record. With lyrics and a sound that only The Clarks could pull off, the album gets off to a soaring start. Upbeat, hook-filled tunes like “Anymore” and “Happy” hearken back to the Clarks early days, while still sounding refreshing. The laid back beat of the titled track “Fast Moving Cars” creates a nice contrast, and further demonstrates the bands diverse song writing skills. Perhaps the only disappointing aspect of this album is the fact that, just like past Clarks’ records, it won’t get the proper promotion and funding being on the smaller label, Razor & Tie. Despite being just as impressive as past albums by The Clarks, their latest release will more than likely see the same ill fate.
