After touring the pop punk scene for many years supporting the likes of The Audition, New Found Glory and Fall Out Boy and releasing a self financed ep ‘A Dozen Dreams’ in 2006, Dutch outfit Destine were signed on artist development deal by Sony in Holland. Eventually Sony signed the band on a full deal and an album is planned for late 2009. In the meantime we’ll have to do with this e.p, which basically shows a Dutch band beating the Americans at their own game. The hit single ‘In Your Arms’ is sensational, hitting you like an uncompromising blend of Anberlin, Acceptance and Simple Plan. ‘Forget About Me’ more of a straight-forward pop punk anthem is equally hooky as is the excellent ‘Burn’, whilst the closing track ‘Wake Me’ slows the pace without the loss of melody. Produced and mixed by Paul Wisner illustrates that Sony are firmly behind Destine and on the strength of this material the album should be well worth the wait
