“Songs from the Underground” is just a bonus set of B-sides and live songs that was put out to Best Buy (I’m about 90% sure on that), not sure on the exact bundling and presentation of the material, but that’s where it was released. Basically what this is- an official collection of favorites released through the Linkin Park fan club (got that from the back of the CD- good stuff.) Overall these songs are just B-sides and live songs, nothing on here could’ve been used for anything else really, but it works for a B-sides release. The one song on this set that you have to have is Chris Cornell’s “Hunger Strike” featuring Chester Bennington. The harmonies that those two have on that track are great and that overall song is just fantastic. Other than that though, “And One” is a good song and the demo version of “Dedicated” is cool too, but this isn’t anything that couldn’t have been released as bonus tracks on “Road to Revolution.” So while it’s cool that they released it, the people that already have these songs is what it’s demoed for (hardcore Linkin Park fan club types) and other Linkin Park fans have to spend (at least) five bucks to get these songs and that’s really not that cool. A fun thing to have for Linkin Park fans, but it’s hard not to come up with a better idea on how it was released.
