You Haunt Me
Somewhere Under Wonderland
Joshua Radin’s latest album “Simple Times” is his best work to date. Everything he’s done to this point has been poignant and heartfelt, none more than this record “Simple Times.” Even when he’s doing something different like singing in duet songs like “Sky”, you feel everything he’s singing and you the acoustic guitar adds to the emotion that Radin is putting into the music. Basically every song on “Simple Times” seems to take the key elements that made the song “Winter” a success for Radin. All of these songs have great melodies, all of them have decent hooks, and Radin’s unique and vulnerable voice takes the listener into his story no matter what he’s singing about. A couple of these songs miss, but out of eleven, nine are dead on, and that makes this an album that singer/songwriter fans should love. To gauge your interest in this album- listen through “Sky”- all around just a great song. If you don’t like that song, then you won’t like Radin. If you do- you’ve found one of your new favorite artists. For his first release on independent label Mom & Pop Records, Radin pulled out all of the stops and really released something he can build on.
