You Haunt Me
Sir Sly

“Inside in the Inside-Out” was a great debut for the Kooks. The first six tracks were a little boring, but after that the songs got exceptional. “She Moves In Her Own Way”, “Naďve”, “Time Awaits” and a few others near the middle to the end of the album were all great. The Kooks take that type of style that they built with “Inside in the Inside-Out” and have elaborated on it to make a great album in “Konk.” The style remains much the same- goofy/creative guitar riffs throughout every song with some standard percussion and some great hooks is the route that The Kooks take on nearly every track and they use it to their advantage. That style carries The Kooks through “Konk” but the general placement of all songs makes the album an easy listen from start to finish. “Always Where I Need to Be” is at the front of the album but after a solid opener in “See The Sun.” “Love it All” and “Stormy Weather” carry the album in the middle and “One Last Time” and “Tick of Time” finish the album perfectly. “Inside in the Inside-Out” was the perfect debut for The Kooks because it carried them into “Konk”, which is as good as a pop album can be in 2008. It’s fun, energetic, energetic, and a great pop album. Definitely check out “Konk.”
