Sister Hazel returns with their sixth album: Absolutely. Its hard to believe its been nearly 10 years since the band broke out with their hit single “All For You”, but here we are…and while the musical landscape may have changed dramatically in the past 10 years, Sister Hazel is still doing what they do best, writing great songs and recording solid albums. “Absolutely” is no exception, from the hook filled “Mandolin Moon” to rocking opener “Shame”. This album really hits its stride with “Meet Me in the Memory,” which might be one of the most beautiful songs Sister Hazel has ever written. Also noteworthy is “Beautiful High” and “Tear by Tear,” making ‘Absolutely’ the bands most complete album they’ve recorded since their debut album “Somewhere More Familiar”. The cleverly written “Hello, It’s Me” will clearly be a fan favorite for years to come, as well as the building ballad “Truth Is”. This album might not be as impressive as Sister Hazel’s career defining “Chasing Daylight,” but is it a close second? Absolutely.
