The Take Off and Landing of Everything
Elbow

Third release from Tulsa alt metal band sees them move in a slightly more melodic direction than their previous effort ‘Detachment Ring’ without returning to the rap metal core of their debut release ‘Shed’. This would have fitted neatly into the Wind-up records roster a few years ago and indeed the music bears more than a passing similarity to ex-Wind-up alternative metal act Edgewater at their heaviest. Honest brutal and at times resoundingly formulaic Failsafe it seems can do no wrong on local radio with the single ‘Return to Lust’ proving a local favourite. Of the more hook orientated material ‘(Our) Everything’ catches the ear along with the hardcore styled ‘My Letters’ or the up tempo ‘Delete the Dream’ which closes an e.p that is competent but ultimately generic
