After releasing an excellent debut album, Surviving August and Kirtland records went their separate ways. The band could have frittered away the time, wallowed in self pity or indeed split up. To their credit they have put together this extremely well produced e.p which continues the theme so successful on the debut. Once again combining elements from such luminaries as Our Lady Peace, the defunct Athenaeum and The Calling, and galvanised by the ever wonderful vocals of Patrick Clark, Surviving August hit the mark. On the mid paced contemporary melodic rock of ‘Escape’ and ‘Those Who Care’ there are hooks aplenty, whilst the anthem like quality of ‘Find My Way’ is in complete contrast with the obligatory ballad ‘Where Are You Now’. Currently being shopped to various record labels as a promo, this e.p is well worth your attention as well as that of the music industry. ‘Movement’ is available at cdbaby.com and will shortly be available on itunes
