Better known as Ryan McAllister, of Canadian alt rock favourites Dakona, the singer has chosen to release a far more stripped down and introspective solo effort than Dakona’s last album ‘Perfect Change’. It’s all fairly laidback-save for the Dakona sounding ‘Brothers and Sisters’-with McAllister’s unique voice combining with acoustic guitar and meaningful lyrics on the U2-esque Catalina or ‘Second Tide’.
This is an album that McAllister made purely for himself; however there is no reason why we shouldn’t enjoy listening to it…. preferably late at night.
