The Wheeland Brothers’ Toast to the Coast initially comes off as a mash-up between Rome Ramirez and The Dirty Heads. Especially based on the catchy beach jam, “Sand in My Sheets.” There are other songs on the record that have that same Dirty Heads vibe like “In With the Newport,” but The Wheeland Brothers are more Jack Johnson than Dirty Heads. “Sand in My Sheets,” and “Just Take It Easy” headline the late-night campfire jams that are in abundance on Toast to the Coast. Unfortunately, this album needs a couple more tracks to feel complete, and it’s somewhat repetitive. Still, the songs are easy to sing to and easier to bob your head to. Toast to the Coast is terrific and something from the album should be on everybody’s playlist.
