The Gorillaz have now been around for ten years. The fictional band that’s actually fronted by Blur’s Damon Albarn has had a strong run over the past decade. Coming out of the gate with their single “Clint Eastwood” the band kept things going after that with “DARE” and “Feel Good Inc.” Those are the highlights but along the way there are several great songs and three great albums that are fun to listen to. “The Singles Collection: 2001-2011” features 13 of the best Gorillaz songs to come out over the years and two bonus remix songs as well. You can’t complain about the 13 songs that were chosen to feature on the album and you really can’t even complain about the two additional remix tracks but you can complain about the lack of remix tracks. Instead of just 2 remix tracks why not do 13 remix tracks and feature a second disc? You know those are available somewhere or could be made casually up to the release date of the album. Even with that oversight, this is a cool singles collection and if you like the Gorillaz and have only bought a few singles over the years, this is a cool collection to check out.
