One thing that makes White Light Riot stand out is their manic, teetering on the edge of control, live shows, and it has been an essential factor in building their fan base.  Although some would explain the band's wild antics, especially front man Mike Schwandt's, being due to living in the moment on stage, the band claims there are other factors at work.

"Mike's just a clumsy bastard," says drummer Mark Schwandt.  The other band members can attest to this after explaining how Mike has fallen on stage numerous times, including tripping over drum risers, knocking amps over, hitting other members of the band with his guitar, and even hitting himself in the head so hard that he needed seven stitches after a show.

"The funny part is, we still never miss a note," says Mike.  As long as his guitar is only inflicting wounds upon himself, the other members couldn't agree more."

White Light Riot is currently out on tour in support of the new album "Atomism," which they released over the summer.  Fans can download a track called "Out of Sight" from the album for free in the AA Downloads page.
