After their success together in 2005 writing the song "Collide" together, Better Than Ezra front man Kevin Griffin has been tapped by singer/songwriter Howie Day to help write and produce his new album which is slated for release sometime in 2007.
Howie Day's last album, "Stop All The World Now" was the breakthrough story of 2005—a two-year-old album that had seemingly run its course only to gain new life when radio stations around the country discovered its hidden gem, a little hook-ridden single called “Collide.” The track, already a fan favorite from Day’s live shows, quickly rocketed up the Billboard charts and into Hollywood, where it was licensed for a plethora of TV shows including “One Tree Hill,” “Scrubs” and “Grey’s Anatomy,” “ER,” “Joan of Arcadia” and several more. The combined radio and television media blitz eventually fueled the album to sales in excess of 800,000 units.
Griffin contributed lyrical and production credits on three tracks on Day's last album including the aforementioned monster hit "Collide". Griffin is listed as one of two producers on Day's new album, the other being Mike Flynn who most recently worked with the Fray on their last record.
