Jack White now holds the record for the world's fastest released single. The ever inventive White recorded the single in the morning at the Nashville headquarters of his Third Man label, shipped the recording to Nashville's United Record Pressing plant and had the albums available for distro by the afternoon.
The A side is a new tune called "Lazaretto," while the B side is a cover of Elvis Presley's 1969 song "Power of My Love." The entire thing was done with in under four hours.
"Originally, we were just gonna do this record and go back to sleep," White told the crowd at Third Man before proceeding to play a full set.
"I just thought how difficult it was going to be to explain to people if we didn't pull it off, so thank God we did."
