Beck Turned Down Chance To Write Mad Men Theme

Beck has revealed that he passed up the opportunity to write and record the theme for AMC's hit series Mad Men. Speaking with Billboard, the hit maker joked that his ability to sniff out a good opportunity may be diminishing as his career moves on.

"My instinct has definitely gone awry; I could give you many examples," he began.

He continued to explain his first reaction when contacted by the show's producers:

"'It's about ad executives in the '60s? They're going to make a show about that? Really? Um, I don't think so.'"

He notes that since then he has become a big Mad Men fan, adding that it's "just like the best show ever made!"
