Metallica To Perform At Grammys With Classical Pianist

Metallica will return to the Grammy stage for the first time since 1991 - and this time, the momentous performance will include an assist from the Chinese classical pianist Lang Lang, who's been named the a "Grammy Ambassador" for this year's event.

"This performance will be truly special with Lang Lang, who has appeared on stages all over the world including the opening ceremonies at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, a White House state dinner, World Cup ceremonies, and the Nobel Prize concert in Stockholm among many other acclaimed appearances," wrote 'Tallica on its website.

The band has been nominated for Best Recording Package for its Through the Never soundtrack at the upcoming ceremony.

The 56th annual Grammy Awards air on CBS at 8 p.m. EST January 26 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
