Boston based alternative artist, Adam Jensen, released his second EP of 2013 yesterday. Adam’s Behold The Man EP immediately made a splash on the top 20 of the iTunes singer/songwriter albums chart landing at #7. This follows up Jensen’s “Head on a String” EP that also went to #7 on the chart.

Behold The Man is another new edition of Jensen’s own artistic movement. Moving away from his well-known pop project Mission Hill, Jensen continues to embrace his craft as a prolific songwriter while experimenting with darker elements and new ideas.

“I just wanted to do something that didn’t sound like any of my other records. I was kind of getting bored with myself so I just wanted something different. I didn’t want to sound like anything in particular; I just started messing with some beats and messing with some weird sounds. The stuff I’ve put out in the past is very mainstream, I wanted something a little different this time around.”

Behold The Man is led with “The Kid.” According to Jensen, it’s a song that’s about a bank robbery but metaphorically- it’s about something he relates to.

“With this record, I was writing songs about myself. When I was a kid I worked in a machine shop. I was always with the older kids so I was always known as ‘the kid.’ This song is about robbing a bank, but there’s more to it than that… it’s a metaphor for me because I always played that part growing up.

Adam Jensen is an award-winning recording artist, songwriter and producer from Boston, MA. From an 8-year-old classically trained pianist, to a 15-year-old playing his first gig on the piers in Boston, to a 25-year-old rocking out at Gillette Stadium with Bon Jovi, Jensen has always known music is his path to staying out of trouble (which he is all too familiar with.) Formerly signed to Toucan Cove Records (Universal) and known as “Mission Hill,” Jensen has made a name for himself with a commitment to his songwriting craft and relentless gigging. He’s played dates all over the world and he’s opened for artists such as Kid Rock and Train, just to name a few. Jensen has received the L.A. Music Award for “Male Vocalist of the Year.”
