Longtime Matchbox Twenty guitarist Adam Gaynor is reportedly no longer a part of the band.  Matchbox Twenty has reportedly decided "not to renew his services" a source close to the band says, not citing any specific reasons.  The band is currently on hiatus as many of the members are pursuing side projects.

Shortly after the band finished touring for their last release "More Than You Think You Are", they announced their plans to take some time off from the band.  Gaynor was reportedly working on writing material for other bands at that time, but there was no indication that he had plans to leave the band.

This will mark the first lineup change for Matchbox Twenty since the band was formed in 1996.  Gaynor joined the band after being approached by long time Matchbox Twenty producer Matt Serletic.  He joined Rob Thomas, Brian Yale, and Paul Doucette who had previously played together in the band Tabitha's Secret.  Later, guitarist Kyle Cook was added to the band to complete their roster before releasing their multi-platinum selling "Yourself or Someone Like You."

It remains to be seen if the band will add another guitarist when they reunite to work on their fourth album, or if they will just go on as a foursome.
