Tegan and Sara have contributed a song to the Dallas Buyers Club soundtrack called "Shudder to Think." The 80s-sounding cut is a previously unreleased B-side which the Canadian duo is glad to see finally drop.
"I've been very excited about Dallas Buyers Club ever since hearing about the film," Sara Quin told Rolling Stone.
"With the soundtrack supporting such an important cause, we're very excited to contribute a previously unreleased b-side to the campaign."
The "important cause" that Quin is referring to has to do with the subject matter of the film, which deals with black market AIDS treatment.
The Dallas Buyers Club stars Matthew McConaughey as Ron Woodroof, a Texas man who died from an AIDS-related illness in 1992. Prior to passing, Woodroof was denied antiretroviral treatment after his diagnosis, so he traveled to Mexico to obtain black market medicine which he then smuggled back into the US to sell to other patients.
The Dallas Buyers Club soundtrack also features songs from Thirty Seconds to Mars, My Morning Jacket, the Airborne Toxic Event, Cold War Kids and Fitz and the Tantrums. The soundtrack hits October 29th.
